Launch Event & Runway Show
I was fortunate to be invited to the launch for Karl Lagerfeld for Macy's at the State Street store. I ran over to the loop store in my minnie mouse platform heels (not sure why I call them that, they are the mary janes that forever 21 made to pay homage to miu miu)
The place was packed and everyone was enjoying cocktails and awaiting the runway show. I didn't see much shopping but I was sure to grab my size in the tweed dress, because out of all the pieces in the collection I deemed it to be the most quintessentially Karl. The marketing team for Macy's is super responsive and incredibly accessible, a rarity. They even held my dress for me while I finished up taking pics. One of the hazards of blogging is accidentally spilling a drink on one's shoe while trying to manage a DSLR, while holding a garment on a hanger, and attempting to send a twitpic! Can I get a witness?!
The collection is very impressive, the price points are great, with the exception of the T-shirts and tanks (I mean really Karl) and the overall look and feel I think can best be described as delicate and demure. Lots of design detail that doesn't necessarily show up in the campaign photos or my own, but well worth it.
