Confirmed! Lanvin for H&M - Fall / Holiday 2010 Designer Collaboration

Distinguished and illustrious Parisian fashion house Lanvin - makers of Michelle Obama's controversial sneakers -  is doing a line w/ H&M.

Confirmed via WWD and NY Times the statement confirms the partnership but also leaves me with a tone of questions. - “I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H & M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public.” - Alber Elbaz Lanvin's creative director.

I'm thinking the price point will be a bit higher than past guest designers, Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld, Jimmy Choo.

First look is scheduled for 11/2/10 and the collection will be in 200 stores 11/23/10.

I may be sleeping outside the night before, just maybe. The last time, with Jimmy Choo, it was a mad house! I may need some back-up ladies.

  1. They made the right choice. This must be the start of a great partnership.

  2. I was able to watch the odd promo video of the retailer last year and it got me excited. I saw photos of gorgeous party frocks and other designs, and they don't like a cheap imitation. After Lanvin, Jimmy Choo and Lagerfeld, who will the giant retailer collaborate next?

  3. It got me thinking, why are these fashion houses collaborating with giant retailers? Most American families are cash-strapped and now prefers to buy at retail stores. Survival for both, I guess.
