Kell on Earth - Kelly Cutrone is coming to Bravo - Finally. I have been looking forward to this one for quite some time. Since first hearing rumors of a deal being shopped and learning of the working title I have been waiting patiently to get my dose of Kelly Cutrone, straight. Am I the only one that thinks The City could not survive without her? Apparently not, according to the LA Times, MTV is working diligently with the Bravo network to make sure there is no overlap in story lines. I hope this doesn't make for any awkward scripting.
For those of you who aren't able to make out my rambling or those of you who have not been exposed to Kelly through reality TV or as a fashion junkie, she is the principal at People's Revolution, a major PR firm that specializes in fashion. Kelly doles out advice to the young fashion upstarts on The City, the kind of youngster that comes into an interview and has nothing more to say than "I’m passionate about fashion" or "I’ve always loved shopping".
What's more is she is working on penning her 1st book. "If you have to cry, go outside" I predict it becoming a bible for young fashion wanna be's and women in any career who are striving to strike that balance of professionalism and authoritarianism, those who need to find their voice, learn how to ask for and get what they want. Some of those lessons are just so hard fought you need to live through them as I have to really get it. I'm interested to see how "real" this book will be. I hope there will be some great take always for young women so perhaps they don’t show up on my door step looking for an event planning position with little more than enthusiasm and hopes to meet someone famous. Young people don’t want to pay their dues anymore, you have to work your way to the top if you expect to excel. As I always tell my “underlings”…I’ve paid the cost to be the boss.
